Dr. Ana M. Lamas received her Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Harvard-Radcliffe College. She then received her medical degree from Yale University, School of Medicine graduating with membership to the prestigious honor medical society, Alpha Omega Alpha. While at Yale, she received the Yale International Student Fellowship and the Merck Award. Dr. Lamas completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Columbia University Medical Center/Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. From there, she completed her fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine where she was the recipient of the Young Investigator Award administered by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Other awards included the President’s Grant-in-Aid Award, First Prize and the Minority Investigator Research Supplement Award by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. While at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Lamas was involved in Immunology research on the human eosinophil, a white blood cell important in the allergic disease model. This research led to the publication of several scientific articles in peer reviewed journals as well as book chapters in Immunology text books.

After completing her fellowship, Dr. Lamas returned to Miami as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine. While in this position, she was responsible for the inpatient management of internal medicine patients, was the director of the Adult Allergy and Immunology Clinic and had a research laboratory. She also taught medical students, interns and residents in Internal Medicine and Otolaryngology residents in the Allergy Clinic.

In the mid 1990’s, Dr. Lamas joined her father, the late Juan F. Lamas, M.D., in the private practice of Allergy, later adding Clinical Immunology to their clinical services. It is this same practice that Dr. Lamas directs today. Dr. Lamas is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She is also Board Certified in Allergy and Immunology and has received two re-certifications in this Board in 1999 and 2011.

Dr. Lamas is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. She is also a member of the Dade County Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association and the Florida Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society.

Dr. Lamas is certified by the Aesthetic Enhancement Institute in facial aesthetic treatments and advanced treatment techniques with dermal fillers and botulinum toxins. She also received certifications by the Aesthetic Enhancement Institute in Mesotherapy (lipo-dissolve) and by the Aesthetic Skin Institute in Platelet Rich Plasma, Cosmetic Applications. Dr. Lamas is a certified Ulthera® operator.

Dr. Lamas practices in Miami, Florida. She is fluent in Spanish.
